First and foremost we are lovers of animals and believe their needs and happiness are just as important as our own. The founding principle of our salon are the five welfare needs of all animals.
Freedom from fear & stress.
Freedom from pain, injury & disease.
Freedom from hunger & thirst.
Freedom from discomfort.
Freedom to express normal behaviour.
Our philosophy in life is that we should treat people as you expect to be treated yourself. I believe if you act with integrity, fairness and loyalty and are reliable and consistent in these traits we will be a happier people. So this is the approach we take with all of our clients and their pets. It doesn't cost to be nice or to treat people and animals with respect.
In 2014 I was awarded the City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming at a grade of Distinction which is one the highest recognised qualifications available to dog groomers in the UK and I am currently on my path to the Diploma award. I host and attend seminars and workshops to further my knowledge and skills and recently started to compete.
I have two Airedale Terriers and an English Pointer at home. It was my Airedale, Rufus, that gave me the grooming bug; I only wish I'd started sooner.
Being taught by one of the most respected and renown dog groomers in the UK was fantastic. Mark Davies' (LGCI) of All Breed Grooming Academy career with dogs has spanned the decades since the early 80's. Having travelled around the world judging to demonstrating at Crufts the knowledge he has gained and passes to his pupils is immense.
I am an authorised microchip implanter for Petlog by The Kennel Club and hold a current certificate in Pet First Aid.
I come from Scarborough and moved to the area in 2003 to manage a retail business in Birmingham. Previous to that my family and I lived in Norfolk, Surrey and North Yorkshire. My professional background has been in retail and customer service. Working with and for internationally renowned companies and brands.
Away from the salon I have an interest in American Football. Coaching at Youth level and following the Minnesota Vikings.
Michelle started her grooming career in 2007 working with and under many prestigious groomers along the way.
